STEP BY STEP:
Music: “Back To You” by John Mayer. Another one of my all time favorite songs
For the first half of the year I was completely obsessed with the camouflage print. I owned a camo jacket, vest, beanie, pants, headband, phone case, leggings, and camo socks! I still love all of those items very much and the camouflage print in general, but times change and so do trends. This is where the faux leather comes in. I am just as obsessed and though I haven’t completely filled my life with leather yet, I’ve gotten a few pieces like the ones below to start. Not sure if it has been said already but I now deem leather the new camo.
SHOES: Steve Madden
I had my first guitar lesson four years ago over the summer in Chicago. It was the summer after my first year in college and I was going through a phase where I wanted to try EVERYTHING that I enjoyed! (I suppose it’s a phase similar to the one I’m in now :). That summer I was mostly on my own and apart from taking every different color train in Chicago, I went to free dance clinics, had a professional photo-shoot, auditioned for a talent agency, auditioned for a web series, wrote a song AND took guitar lessons! Unfortunately most of those things didn’t quite work out including the guitar lessons but that was an amazing summer to say the least.
A few weeks ago in Singapore, I decided to give guitar lessons another try after I found really cheap classes on Groupon. I’ve always loved singing and music in general and really wanted to learn how to play an instrument. I took piano lessons for about a year in high school but there is just something about the sound of a guitar. Below is a video of me attempting to play what I have learned so far. I recorded myself for the sake of motivation and future laughs. You gotta start somewhere right??
Luckily my brother already had a classical guitar so I didn’t have to purchase one though I do eventually hope to get my own acoustic guitar. Since I am no longer in Singapore, I’ve been practicing on my own using the book: Hal Leonard Guitar Method Complete Edition and YouTube!
I have a very long way to go, but I’ll get there
Earlier this year I was completely against Timbs. I considered them unflattering and old fashioned; part of a trend that hadn’t quite made its way back around yet. I bought my first pair of Timbs not too long after I decided I didn’t like them. But why Juvey?? Well.. Soon as I decided I wasn’t a Timbs person I felt the need to prove to myself that I could “pull it off” and didn’t like that I was limiting my sense of style. Safe to say I’ve developed a close relationship with my Timbs and even consider them a must-have, yes a must! Most definitely one of my favorite pairs of shoes. Below is one of the many ways I like to wear my Timbs
ACCESSORIES: Bershka necklace, Forever 21 rings, Michael Kors watch, Marc Jacobs bracelet
